Shoot Better Pictures Workshop - Eagles, Owls and Friends - Feb 10 2026 - Wildbunch members day

£149.00

Join pro Andy Rouse for a relaxed and inspiring day at Hagley Falconry Centre, photographing a superb range of eagles, owls, and birds of prey. We’ll be shooting both dynamic flight action and striking portraits, all in natural settings and a friendly, supportive atmosphere.

This is a hands-on teaching workshop using trained birds of prey, designed for photographers of all levels. It’s not about rushing through setups or chasing shots, but about understanding why things work — reading the light, anticipating behaviour, and making deliberate photographic choices. Whether you’re refining existing skills, learning new techniques, or getting comfortable with a new camera, you’ll have constant guidance, help, and inspiration throughout the day.

All setups will be shaped by the light and conditions on the day, just as they would be in the field. When the opportunity is there, we’ll work extensively with backlight to create impactful, dramatic images. Working with trained birds allows us to slow the process down when needed, repeat key moments, and really focus on technique rather than luck.

We’ll also run dedicated sessions for photographers wanting to practise Pre-Capture / Pro Capture techniques (where supported). If your camera doesn’t offer these functions, the same sessions become an excellent way to sharpen timing and reactions.

For those who love action, there will be a wide variety of flight opportunities — from slower, more predictable flyers such as owls and eagles, through to true speed merchants like the Peregrine Falcon.

Lunch is included (sandwiches, various snacks, dietary no issue) and full pre workshop instructions including travel and what to bring will be sent a month ahead of the date.

The focus throughout the day is on learning, enjoyment, and leaving with stronger images, improved confidence, and skills you can apply to your own wildlife photography wherever you shoot next.
