Hello everyone and welcome to the RouseBLOG. Many of you have contacted us requesting for a more personal view on the life of a wildlife photographer, so here is the result. I will use the BLOG as a kind of RouseCam, showing new images as they get taken and hopefully inspiring you to get out and do the same. You can help to support the blog pages by puchasing books, prints and clothing from our online store and by coming along to one of the workshops that we hold several times during the year. In return I will try to make it this BLOG fun, informative and educational, and will limit my West Ham comments to a minimum, especially for those Aston Villa fans who have trouble reading big words!
RSS Feed - We now have an RSS feed for the BLOG so if you want to use it then here is the XML link - http://www.andyrouse.co.uk/blog_rss.xml

I have been asked a lot recently about my 2010 UK workshop program and so have planned a few dates. The first is at the British Wildlife Centre on March 5th and is my Wildlife Photography Essentials workshop.
Wildlife Photography Essentials is the perfect workshop for the wildlife photographer wanting to get a headstart with their widllife photography. It is a combination of getting in depth technical and fieldcraft knowledge from one of the best wildlife photographers in the world plus putting these new found skills to the test with some British wildlife such as foxes, otters and wildcats. No-one else can give you this amazing combination in a friendly atmosphere. Other dates will be announced soon at Slimbridge and in the Lake District.
The cost is £99 + VAT which includes lunch. You will learn a lot in a fun and friendly environment so hope to see you there, more dates and workshops announced soon.

Hi all, been a busy week and have been posting many new images to my Facebook fan page, will update a few here later. Big news from today is that I have just announced a book signing of my latest book at the National Geographic store in London on Saturday February 6th. Details are in the attached press release. I have shipped 200 advance copies of the book for this signing, the rest will be available at the end of the month. Oh yes I will be making a special Collectors Edition with a limited edition print too. The book is a special one as it donates 25% to tiger conservation and I have self published it. Here is the cover:

Anyway I hope to see you at the store and the exhibition, trust me you will love it. If you cannot make it then we will be holding another book signing at Focus on Imaging in March.

Well it is a dark day for wildlife photography. The winner of this years Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition has been disqualified for contravening the rules on using animal models. Click here for the full news piece and an article from me on this decision which is on the Amateur Photographer online site. At this point I am speechless and I do not know really what to say, apart from being quite angry too.....
